Ingo

Rottweiler · Male · Adult · 4 years

Steckbrief Name: Ingo Breed: Bernhardiner–Rottweiler-Mix Born: ca. 2021 (approximately 4 years old) Features: Powerful, people-oriented, well-trained, typical of the breed, demanding. We specifically ask for contact regarding the animals in our mediation assistance through the contact form or email. We cannot provide information over the phone! Adopt me! Home sought for Ingo (Bernhardiner-Rottweiler-Mix, ca. 4 years, neutered) Ingo is a neutered male dog, approximately 4 years old – an impressive mix of Bernhardiner and Rottweiler. He brings the best of both breeds: strength, alertness, loyalty – but also independence and the right to clear, consistent leadership. Ingo was raised in the wrong environment. Family life with children is too stressful for him – the high level of stimuli, the unclear environment, and the lack of breed-specific guidance have overwhelmed him. Due to inattention, a biting incident occurred. This incident should not be exaggerated but also not ignored – it shows how important it is that Ingo comes to experienced, safe hands in the future. Ingo is very well trained. He knows all basic commands, is on a leash, has a reliable recall, and shows loyalty, cuddliness, and attentiveness to his trusted people. He meets strangers with skepticism and does not want to be touched without permission – which should be respected given his size. Once his trust is won, however, he shows himself as a true friend who forms strong bonds. Ingo is very social with female dogs, playful, and friendly. With other male dogs, he is not compatible. Cats have not been tested. For Ingo, we are seeking a child-free, quiet home with a secure yard, authoritative guidance, and understanding of breed-specific behavior. People with experience in handling large, character-strong dogs will gain a loyal companion with Ingo – provided they are willing to take him seriously, lead him consistently, and give him the security he needs. Ingo in summary: – Bernhardiner–Rottweiler-Mix, male dog, neutered – born ca. 2021, ca. 4 years old – well trained, very reliable recall – gets along with female dogs, not with male dogs – child-free home required – skeptical of strangers, loyal to primary caregiver – biting incident due to inattentive situation – not an "aggressive dog" – seeks an experienced, structured home with clear leadership Important note: Ingo currently lives with his owners and will be rehomed through our mediation assistance. For inquiries, please contact us exclusively through our contact form or by email. We unfortunately cannot provide information over the phone!. Walks well on a leash.

Steckbrief Name : Ingo Rasse: Bernhardiner–Rottweiler-Mix Geboren : ca. 2021 (knapp 4 Jahre alt) Merkmale : Kraftvoll, menschenbezogen, gut erzogen, rassetypisch anspruchsvoll.

About Ingo

What life with Ingo looks like

Ingo is a medium-sized adult rottweiler dog waiting at Tierschutz Eutin und Umgebung e.V. in Eutin.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ingo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ingo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutz Eutin und Umgebung e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ingo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ingo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutz Eutin und Umgebung e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ingo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ingo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutz Eutin und Umgebung e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ingo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
