J Fox-Anouk &#8211

Akita · Unknown

J-Fox has seen quite a bit in his life. As an original overseas dog brought to Germany, he landed in a foster home that had taken in too many shelter residents. As a result, J-Fox has had to miss out on experiencing many things that are incredibly important for a good dog life, such as regular walks, vet visits, and normal handling in everyday life. It takes a few days for J-Fox to build trust and to try to overcome his fear. But it requires time, and during this time, his fellow animals provide him with security. With the right approach, he can be convinced, and currently, he enjoys the free run in a quiet environment. Traffic still frightens him significantly at the moment. His social behavior towards fellow animals is absolutely positive, and we think that J-Fox can also be accustomed to other animals. Cats can be tested. J-Fox must be introduced to bipeds gradually, and the first steps have been taken. People should have the talent to not want anything from him, and then he will eventually make contact. Some examinations are still pending, and the results will be received in the following weeks. So far, the examination results are without any abnormalities. J-Fox needs at worst an experienced home for an anxious dog, ideally as a second dog. Children are welcome to join the family under the right management, but they should not overburden J-Fox, especially in the start phase. A double safety measure should be in place at the beginning and until a reliable trust relationship is established. Who would like to explain to our Miniaturakita how wonderful life can be?

DE·Show original

About J Fox-Anouk &#8211

What life with J Fox-Anouk &#8211 looks like

J Fox-Anouk &#8211 is a adult akita dog waiting at Tierheim Schkortitz in Grimma.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting J Fox-Anouk &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about J Fox-Anouk &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Schkortitz handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw J Fox-Anouk &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt J Fox-Anouk &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Schkortitz will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is J Fox-Anouk &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if J Fox-Anouk &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Schkortitz early rather than rehoming privately; they know J Fox-Anouk &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
