Jaap is found severely injured at 5.5 weeks old. His right hind leg had to be amputated immediately. Later, it turned out he also had broken bones in his other hind leg. A few weeks of rest in a crate, proper medical care, tasty treats, lots of cuddles, and further loving care have done wonders for this little guy! Jaap has developed into a cheerful, playful, and affectionate kitten. He can do the circus: every now and then he pulls off the most acrobatic stunts. Besides all this craziness, you can sometimes notice that Jaap is a bit more agitated. This probably has to do with the fact that he has experienced a lot of pain, trouble, and unrest. For Jaap, it's nice if you approach him calmly and pick him up and put him down well and controlled. If he's in the middle of a game, it doesn't work to suddenly pick him up from the ground. He's a real chatterbox, almost always responds to your voice by 'talking' back. He likes to curl up on your lap when you're sitting on the ground and loves to be petted and stroked while he's there. He purrs loudly and presses his head against you contentedly. He gets along fine with 3 legs and finds more and more stability. Jaap cannot be placed as an outdoor cat, he will appreciate a well-fenced garden or cat run. Jaap cannot cope well with traffic, and of course, we want to spare him further suffering. Jaap moves in with his gentle girlfriend Kikki, they met in the foster home where they both stay. They can play and sleep together nicely, but they can also leave each other alone when needed. Jaap and Kikki have been dewormed, flea-treated, chipped, and vaccinated. A voucher for the castration to be redeemed at a connected Hokazo veterinarian will be provided upon adoption. Jaap is ernstig gewond gevonden toen hij 5,5 week oud was. Zijn rechterachterpootje moest direct geamputeerd worden. Later bleek hij ook botbreuken aan zijn andere achterpoot te hebben. Een aantal weken benchrust, de juiste medische zorg, lekkere hapjes, veel knuffels en verdere liefdevolle zorg hebben dit kleine kereltje goed gedaan! Jaap heeft zich inmiddels ontwikkeld tot een vrolijk, speels en aanhankelijk kitten. Hij kan zo het circus in: zo nu en dan hij haalt hij de meest acrobatische capriolen uit. Naast al deze gekkigheid kun je soms aan Jaap merken dat hij wat sneller geagiteerd is. Dit heeft vermoedelijk te maken met het feit dat hij veel pijn, narigheid en onrust heeft ervaren. Voor Jaap is het fijn als je hem rustig benaderd en hem goed en gecontroleerd oppakt en ook weer neerzet. Als hij midden in het spel zit dan werkt het niet om hem plotseling van de grond te plukken. Hij is een echte kletskous, reageert vrijwel altijd op je stem door terug te ‘praten’. Hij kruipt graag bij je op schoot wanneer je op de grond zit en vindt het heerlijk om dan rustig gekriebeld en geaaid te worden. Hij spint dan honderduit en drukt tevreden zijn kopje tegen je aan. Hij redt zich prima met 3 pootjes en vindt hierbij steeds meer stabiliteit. Jaap kan niet als buitenkat geplaatst worden, een goed afgezette tuin of kattenren zal hij wel kunnen waarderen. Jaap kan zich niet goed redden in het verkeer, daarnaast willen we hem uiteraard nog meer leed besparen. Jaap verhuist samen met zijn zachtaardige vriendinnetje Kikki, ze hebben elkaar ontmoet in het pleeggezin waar zij beiden verblijven. Ze kunnen samen fijn spelen en slapen maar kunnen elkaar ook met rust laten waar nodig. Jaap en Kikki zijn ontwormd, ontvlooid, gechipt en geënt. Een tegoedbon voor de castratie in te leveren bij een aangesloten dierenarts van Hokazo, ontvang je bij adoptie. De geschatte leeftijd van Jaap is 3 mei 2026.
