Jack & Jill

Unknown · Senior · 10 years

Two is a party? Double trouble? We say double the fun and double the treats! Hey there! We’re Jack & Jill (chipped, neutered/castrated), the dynamic sibling duo born on 01.07.2016. Jill’s the radiant ginger gal with a talent for “paw ten” — her signature move to earn those extra snacks. Jack, the bigger bro, sports a sleek cream-beige coat with eyes so mesmerising, you’d think he stole someone’s eyeliner. We’re the spirit keepers of the refuge — spreading joy, mastering the “sit” command and turning heads with our synchronised tail wags. Kids adore us, and we’re firm favourites among the dog walkers because we love to go for a run, enjoy the beach and already have a little van-driving experience. We love their cuddles and are also good with other dogs. Looking for double the love, laughter and lead tangles? Adopt us together and experience the joy of having two happy, snack-loving companions by your side. We are an easy beginner couple for families or van people. Because when we enter your life, we don’t just bring ourselves — we bring a whole lot of happiness.

About Jack & Jill

What life with Jack & Jill looks like

Jack & Jill is a senior dog waiting at Mayday Algarve in Algarve.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇵🇹Adopting from Portugal

Portuguese rescues coordinate extensively with European rescue networks for cross-border placements, especially for galgos and podencos. Sterilization, vaccinations, and microchip ID are standard. Adoption fees typically cover the full vet workup.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jack & Jill, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jack & Jill?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Mayday Algarve handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jack & Jill on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jack & Jill if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Mayday Algarve will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Jack & Jill already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jack & Jill isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Mayday Algarve early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jack & Jill and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
