Jack & Johnnie

Mixed Breed Cat Β· Male Β· Kitten Β· 4 months

Personality:Jack & Johnnie came into our care after their owners moved away and left them behind. They were understandably very nervous when they first arrived but have quickly found their feet and they are a very active and playful pair of kittens who are getting used to human contact and interactions. Behaviour:When you approach Jack & Johnnie’s unit you will either find them curled up on their bed together or playing together, you don’t normally find one without the other! Initially the boys were very hand shy so we have let them approach us for contact when they were ready and now they will come to us for some gentle fuss and Jack has even started to climb on our laps. Housing:Jack & Johnnie do prefer the safety of their unit and can find new surroundings a little scary, so for this reason they would benefit from their own unused room to initially settle in before exploring the rest of the property, and eventually a garden. They cannot be homed in Fareham, PO16. Children/pets:Jack & Johnnie can live with secondary school age children who will be calm around them as they do get easily startled with sudden movement and loud noises. They need to be the only pets in the home. Vet history:Jack & Johnnie are neutered, microchipped, flea and wormed. Their second vaccination is due between 16/11/26-22/11/26 at the shelter and the cost is included in the adoption fee. Jack & Johnnie have no known medical conditions. 4 weeks free pet insurance included with adoption. Adoption fee:The adoption fee is Β£210. If you would like to make an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, this would be hugely appreciated.

About Jack & Johnnie

What life with Jack & Johnnie looks like

Jack & Johnnie is a kitten mixed breed cat cat waiting at RSPCA Solent Branch CIO - The Stubbington Ark in United Kingdom.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months β€” most shelters arrange this before adoption.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jack & Johnnie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jack & Johnnie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. RSPCA Solent Branch CIO - The Stubbington Ark handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jack & Johnnie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jack & Johnnie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” RSPCA Solent Branch CIO - The Stubbington Ark will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Jack & Johnnie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jack & Johnnie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with RSPCA Solent Branch CIO - The Stubbington Ark early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jack & Johnnie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
