Scarlett

Mixed Breed Cat · Female · Kitten · 4 months

Personality:Scarlett is a shy little girl who takes a while to get to know you. Once she does, she is very affectionate and will come over to you. She’s can be a little hand shy so we let her approach us and allow her to rub around our hand to initiate contact. Once she feels comfortable with you she has a gorgeous purr. Behaviour:Scarlett spends most of her time napping in her favourite spot on the scratch post or with her siblings in a comfy bed. Being a kitten she loves to play and hunt her favourite toys. She sometimes watches her sisters before having the confidence to join in. With time to settle into a new home she will thrive and make a lovely addition. Housing:Scarlett will need a home with outside access to a private garden. She will need an unused room to initially settle into but hopefully this will only be for a very short time. She cannot be rehomed in the Fareham PO14 area. Children/pets:Scarlett could possibly live with quiet, older aged secondary school aged children depending on how she reacts when they meet with her onsite. Scarlett needs to be an only pet. Vet history:Scarlett is neutered, microchipped, flea, wormed and fully vaccinated. Scarlett has no known medical conditions. 4 weeks free pet insurance included with adoption. Adoption fee:The adoption fee is £120. If you would like to make an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, this would be hugely appreciated.

About Scarlett

What life with Scarlett looks like

Scarlett is a kitten mixed breed cat cat waiting at RSPCA Solent Branch CIO - The Stubbington Ark in United Kingdom.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Scarlett, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Scarlett?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. RSPCA Solent Branch CIO - The Stubbington Ark handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Scarlett on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Scarlett if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — RSPCA Solent Branch CIO - The Stubbington Ark will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Scarlett already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Scarlett isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with RSPCA Solent Branch CIO - The Stubbington Ark early rather than rehoming privately; they know Scarlett and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
