Jagdhundmischling Dragos &#8211

Mixed Breed · Male

Dargos came to us because he couldn't settle long-term with the existing cats in the household. Dargos is initially unsure but warms up quickly and is vigilant as long as the danger is on the other side of the fence. At our shelter, he always lived in company, whether male dog or female dog. He loves grooming and enjoys walks in nature. An adjustment to rural surroundings would certainly fall easier for him, even though we are urban, one should prepare for the fact that Dargos still needs to be introduced to some environmental stimuli. If he gains trust, he tries and wants to please. Small animals and cats should not live in the household, children, however, are not a problem at all. Despite his many insecurities, he shows no aggression, he rather goes on the defensive. A blood disorder requires lifelong tablet intake, which, however, does not weigh heavily in terms of cost. A special diet is also recommended and a regular check of blood values. For serious interest, we advise you in cooperation with our practice. Dargos has been overlooked at our shelter so far. Unintelligible, he is one of our most popular walking dogs, big and small. We wish our Struwelpeter a loving home with leadership qualities, ideally as a second dog. Who has an interest in our blonde fluffball and likes it when his hair is blown by the wind….?

DE·Show original

About Jagdhundmischling Dragos &#8211

What life with Jagdhundmischling Dragos &#8211 looks like

Jagdhundmischling Dragos &#8211 is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierheim Schkortitz in Grimma.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jagdhundmischling Dragos &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jagdhundmischling Dragos &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Schkortitz handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jagdhundmischling Dragos &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jagdhundmischling Dragos &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Schkortitz will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jagdhundmischling Dragos &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jagdhundmischling Dragos &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Schkortitz early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jagdhundmischling Dragos &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
