Jagdhundmischling Tootsie &#8211

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 5 years

My name is Tootsie. I am female, vaccinated, microchipped, and born around 2018. I have been waiting since October 2021 for a new home. I am approximately 65 cm tall. My caretakers say about me: Tootsie was dumped in the surrounding area by her owner and details of her stay there did not interest anyone. All the bad has its good side, and Tootsie now enjoys her life with people by her side who care about her fate. Her leash manners have improved, but still have room for improvement. Fellow animals are no longer just growled at, but dog training classes must still be worked on. We do not want to place Tootsie with female dogs, a male dog is an option. Since Tootsie still has a lot of training to do, a single dog household is preferred. A meeting with fellow animals should still be possible in dog training classes and also a good team with her and her family. She has a pronounced prey drive, cats and small animals would not be suitable roommates. Children with the right temperament are already welcome. She likes all two-legged beings and performs a happy dance during the first meeting or before the walk. A house with a fenced yard would be a dream, but apartment living is also possible with the right amount of attention. Jogging, running with a bike, hiking, or dog sports – everything makes Tootsie happy that involves movement. The quiet phases should also be high on the agenda for the future family, Tootsie needs to learn to control her temperament. She is used to apartment living, can stay alone after settling in, is a pleasant passenger, and an absolutely lovable sports machine. Fact is, boring will not happen with the pretty lady with the long legs. Who wants to date our Tootsie and test if you can imagine an exciting future with Tootsie?

About Jagdhundmischling Tootsie &#8211

What life with Jagdhundmischling Tootsie &#8211 looks like

Jagdhundmischling Tootsie &#8211 is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierheim Schkortitz in Grimma.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jagdhundmischling Tootsie &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jagdhundmischling Tootsie &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Schkortitz handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jagdhundmischling Tootsie &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jagdhundmischling Tootsie &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Schkortitz will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jagdhundmischling Tootsie &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jagdhundmischling Tootsie &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Schkortitz early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jagdhundmischling Tootsie &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
