🐾 Jaguar 🐾 Knuffelkat: Breed: Housecat Gender: Male Age: >12 years Access to outdoors: No (Aidscat) Other cats: Yes (if aids+) Other animals: Not known Affectionate: Yes Meet Jaguar! This sweetie came to us as a stray and was sick. Thankfully, he quickly recovered with some medication and is now fully healthy, except for testing positive for Aids+. This handsome young fella is still unsure of himself and is looking for a quiet home where he can take his time to become more social. You can see that he wants to be social but is still figuring it all out. Jaguar came from a location where there are multiple strays, so he is social with other cats. He can go to a home with or without another cat. This cutie is now ready for a warm home where his true personality can shine. Feline Aids: Feline Aids cats can live a long time with the disease without serious symptoms. Unfortunately, there is no cure, but that doesn't mean these sweeties don't deserve a beautiful home. Note: An Aids+ cat can bring additional costs as they age, primarily for supportive care for the symptoms they may develop later. Type of animal: Cat Gender: Male Age:

🐾 Jaguar 🐾 Knuffelkat: In wording Ras: huiskat Geslacht: kater Kinderen: >12 jaar Toegang tot buiten: Neen (Aidskatje) Andere katten: JA (mits aids+) Andere dieren: Niet geweten Zindelijk: JA Meet Jaguar! Soort dier: Kat Geslacht: Mannelijk Leeftijd: 01-01-2019

About Jaguar

What life with Jaguar looks like

Jaguar is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Pootjesparadijs Dierenopvangcentrum Zemst in Belgium.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction β€” every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

πŸ‡§πŸ‡ͺAdopting from Belgium

Belgian shelters operate under regional law (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels each have their own rules). All adoptions include the Eurochip, vaccinations, and a stewardship contract. Several Flemish shelters partner with Dutch and German rescue networks.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jaguar, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jaguar?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Pootjesparadijs Dierenopvangcentrum Zemst handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jaguar on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jaguar if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Pootjesparadijs Dierenopvangcentrum Zemst will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jaguar already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jaguar isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Pootjesparadijs Dierenopvangcentrum Zemst early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jaguar and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
