Adopt Jamy

Male · Young · 1 year

"May God protect!" – this is the most common meaning behind the name Jamy. The cute, still so small fellow with the striking fur pattern was simply discarded like trash with his siblings. Praise be to the dog god, all the puppies were saved by our active animal shelters on site. Jamy now waits with our heartwarming Stefan at a Romanian foster home, hoping to travel to his forever home. Currently, he is very playful and extremely friendly. Jamy loves running around and gets along well with other dogs. It's very likely that HSH genes are in our sweet heartbreaker. Herding dogs have some special characteristics, as they were specially bred to protect livestock herds independently from wild animals. For this reason, they often act autonomously and show strong territorial, barking behavior. Therefore, they need a reliable bond with their human and plenty of space and mental stimulation to balance their need for independent action. Jamy should therefore definitely move into a house with a garden and not be a beginner dog for its human, as understanding and experience are very important for this breed. Additionally, Jamy is currently in puberty, which can lead to rebellious behavior. However, once this phase is over, he will be a reliable and handsome companion by your side. Will you say yes to Jamy? The brown-black-white soul would love to learn what love and security mean and walk through the woods and fields with you. His luggage is already packed. Jamy can be rehomed after a positive foster home stay. The double listing on both association sides and possibly in advertising portals serves to increase his visibility and find the right home for him faster. With the association, there is a close exchange. Every inquiry for the dog is directly discussed and passed on. We will take care of processing it as soon as possible!. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Sehr wahrscheinlich schlummern HSH-Gene in unserem zuckersüßen Herzensbrecher.

About Jamy

What life with Jamy looks like

Jamy is a large young adult dog waiting at Arme Hundeseelen in Năsăud.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇷🇴Adopting from Romania

Romanian rescues handle the highest volume of cross-border adoptions in the EU. Animals are quarantined and fully vetted before transport. Reputable rescues maintain detailed health records and post-adoption follow-up.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jamy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jamy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Arme Hundeseelen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jamy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jamy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Arme Hundeseelen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jamy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jamy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Arme Hundeseelen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jamy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
