Adopt Jana - Knutschkugel sucht ihre Menschen

English Bulldog · Female · Adult · 8 years

Jana *Endpflegestelle gesucht* has been with us since February 2025 at the animal shelter. From the – skeptical with strangers – house-trained – can stay alone – gets along well with male dogs and neutered dogs, not with small dogs – will not be rehomed to other pets (cats/kittens) – not with small children – maul-korbgewöhnt – an ebenerdiges home is sought – has Cushing's Syndrome. Our Jana is a true snuggle ball if one has once snuck into her heart – and that is now really no longer a trick. A few kind words, some treats, and she will be showered with kisses. She is very clingy and a real clown when she has once gained trust. While she is initially unfriendly in the first contact and with other dogs, she is secured with a muzzle, which she wears exemplary. In the presence of the right people, Jana is a very lively and cheerful dog. She loves to spend time in the sun, roll around, and be thoroughly scratched. Jana cannot particularly enjoy other pets, as she is very hunting-driven. She gets along with other dogs depending on the sympathy. She prefers male dogs, but also neutered dogs, yes, with any nature. With small dogs, Jana is unfortunately not compatible. Jana is physically somewhat disadvantaged – a professional athlete will not be out of her in this life. Her weight should be watched carefully. To build up her muscles further, she regularly exercises on the treadmill and wobble board, which should be continued in the new home and is not a great expense. She also now gets along well! Jana also has Cushing's Syndrome, a sensitive digestion, is prone to bladder infections and skin problems, and receives some medications for support. The costs of her medical care will naturally be covered by an endpflegestelle. Adequate time for Jana's care should be planned – she must be regularly taken for physiotherapy and bathed with special shampoo. An ebenerdiges house with a large, fenced-in garden is an absolute must for our snuggle ball. She also enjoys small walks in a quiet environment, as her walkers also confirm. If you can imagine becoming Jana's endpflegestelle, contact the animal shelter by mail or phone. Since the care continues through us and our veterinarian, you should definitely come from the area. Jana is looking forward to you!

About Jana - Knutschkugel sucht ihre Menschen

What life with Jana - Knutschkugel sucht ihre Menschen looks like

Jana - Knutschkugel sucht ihre Menschen is a large adult english bulldog dog waiting at Tierheim Oldenburg in Oldenburg.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jana - Knutschkugel sucht ihre Menschen, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jana - Knutschkugel sucht ihre Menschen?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Oldenburg handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jana - Knutschkugel sucht ihre Menschen on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jana - Knutschkugel sucht ihre Menschen if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Oldenburg will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jana - Knutschkugel sucht ihre Menschen already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jana - Knutschkugel sucht ihre Menschen isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Oldenburg early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jana - Knutschkugel sucht ihre Menschen and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
