adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Jayjay has found his own home! His story: Jayjay is very people-oriented and loves to snuggle. In the house, he curiously follows his contact person around while they do house and garden work to see what his human is up to. He has settled in very quickly and enjoys the presence of the two-leggeds. Jay Jay is simply right in the middle, with all his senses and his zest for life. The cute little guy is house-trained in the foster home and can stay alone at home for up to 3 hours with his canine companions. He has integrated into the existing small pack very quickly. Jayjay likes to go for walks and walks well on a leash. The little guy is very open to unfamiliar dogs. His favorite thing is to immediately greet all the other four-leggeds. Jay Jay is a lovable, uncomplicated, friendly, and cheerful dog who slips into the hearts of his humans in no time. A sunbeam through and through, he just needs one thing: his very own family, where he can be happy. He looks forward to people who give him time and help him get to know his new life step by step. Jayjay would like to go on beautiful nature excursions, enjoy cozy snuggling hours on the sofa with his family, and maybe he will even find a dog training class that gives him the right amount of activity and strengthens the bond between four-leggeds and two-leggeds. About Jayjay

What life with Jayjay looks like

Jayjay is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jayjay, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jayjay?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jayjay on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jayjay if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jayjay already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jayjay isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jayjay and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
