Jazzy K

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 9 years

Profile: Born in 2022, Gender: female, neutered: yes, Personality: friendly, a bit shy, but interested in us humans, calm, very social with other dogs, Height: approx. 43 cm, In shelter since: May 2023 Hello to all the people out there! I am Jazzy and I have been sitting here in the shelter for some time now. With my roommate in the yard, I get along great, and when I sometimes don't know what to do, I like to follow his lead. Towards humans, I am still a bit skeptical, but I have learned a lot in the past few months about getting along with you! When I arrived here, I was a bundle of nerves. I was so afraid to look at you and spent all my time in the hut. I thought if I avoided you, nothing could happen to me. But that has changed. It has piqued my curiosity that my yardmates Kiki and Phibie flip out with joy when the caretakers enter our area. There must be something about you humans that makes you seek our proximity. When visitors from Germany come, they always have the most delicious treats. I wouldn't miss out on that for the world. I think that's a big step in the right direction. Don't you think I should be proud of myself? Now I hope that the shelter is not my final destination, and that I will one day be able to travel. A family that wants to take me in would be fantastic. But I am also looking for people who will give me time to get to know their everyday life. And maybe you need a big bag of treats too. I would be very happy if you get in touch with the Soul-for-Soul Team and ask about me! I am waiting… Yours, Jazzy!

About Jazzy K

What life with Jazzy K looks like

Jazzy K is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at Seelen für Seelchen e.V. in Alfter.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jazzy K, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jazzy K?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Seelen für Seelchen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jazzy K on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jazzy K if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Seelen für Seelchen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jazzy K already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jazzy K isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Seelen für Seelchen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jazzy K and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
