Jenny

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 7 years

Jenny, born around 2019 and about 60 cm tall, is one of the roughly 170 dogs who were left behind in Campurelu after their rescue and ultimately left to their fate. Vierbeiner in Not e.V. has taken Jenny and many other of these dogs in as association dogs and has since been looking after their care and housing. From the start, it was clear how much Jenny was struggling with herself. She showed interest in visitors and observed everything very closely, but for a long time she couldn't bring herself to leave her protective kennel hut. Then, in August, an important breakthrough came: for the first time, Jenny showed herself outside her hut and presented herself in all her beauty. Her friendly kennel mate Imagine was apparently a role model for her – out of curiosity and with visible inner conflict, Jenny dared to take the decisive step forward. Jenny still doesn't allow herself to be touched, but this progress clearly shows that she is attentive, clever and genuinely interested in her surroundings. She hasn't been able to build trust yet, and she will likely need a longer time for that. The potential lies deep within her. Now that Imagine has been allowed to leave and has already found her happy ending, Jenny has been left alone in her kennel. All the more urgently, she is wishing for a sensitive foster placement or an experienced home, ideally with a friendly resident dog who can give her guidance and security. With calm, patience and a suitable environment, Jenny has good chances of continuing to thaw out and, step by step, developing trust in a new life. Jenny is neutered and will be vaccinated, microchipped and placed with a protection contract after a positive pre-adoption check. General note about our animals: Our dogs in Romania are visited regularly so that we can continually reassess their behavior and development. These personal impressions help us greatly in presenting each individual dog as accurately as possible. Nevertheless, we would like to point out that a dog may show itself differently in a new environment – with new people, new routines and new impressions. This is completely normal and part of every process of change. Many dogs even open up faster in a home and show sides that were not visible at the shelter at all. Our assessments are therefore based on current observations, but they are not a guarantee of any particular behavior in a new environment. They are meant to provide guidance and show how the dog presents itself at the shelter – and what potential lies within it. We are convinced that with patience, understanding and a loving environment, every dog can find its way and continue to develop positively.

About Jenny

What life with Jenny looks like

Jenny is an adult mixed breed dog waiting at Vierbeiner in Not e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jenny, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jenny?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Vierbeiner in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jenny on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jenny if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Vierbeiner in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Jenny already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jenny isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Vierbeiner in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jenny and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
