Jerry & George

Male · Senior · 13 years

Jerry & George are a wonderful couple of Spaniels, and are very cuddly, sweet older gentleman. They are fully house-trained, and can be left for up to 4 hours in the home alone. They are happy with all handling, though, a little more worried by veterinary handling - they do cope very well. Jerry & George are looking for a loving home that can offer them all the snuggles and playtime they want. They share their toys brilliantly, and love to play with balls in a game of fetch! Jerry enjoys making calm doggy friends, though, George can be a little intense at first. These two will make such a wonderful addition to their forever home! Meet this gorgeous duo - Jerry, 13-years old, and George, 6-years old! These two Springer Spaniels are looking for their retirement home, where they can lap up all the love and play to their heart's content. Jerry and George are looking to be rehomed together, and can live with children of primary school age. These two are very sweet and loving, enjoying a cuddle but also loving a sniffy walk. They can pull a bit on lead, in typical Springer style, but are incredible companions and will make great adventure buddies. They travel well in the car, and are confident in new environments. George and Jerry love to snuggle up together in the evenings, so a lovely big bed would be fabulous for them. George is of course a bit younger than Jerry, so would need a bit more exercise but they are both very happy chasing a ball and playing with their toys while at home. This duo are incredibly foodie and very clever, so any new training would be a doddle! George, in particular, is very foodie and may be cheeky trying to get some! This lovely duo will make fabulous family dogs, and we can't wait to see them thriving together.

About Jerry & George

What life with Jerry & George looks like

Jerry & George is a large senior dog waiting at Dogs Trust Cardiff in Cardiff.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jerry & George, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jerry & George?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Cardiff handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jerry & George on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jerry & George if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Cardiff will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jerry & George already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jerry & George isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Cardiff early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jerry & George and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
