Jess

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 4 months

Jess is a young, healthy female dog (about 1-1.5 years old), who is already spayed, microchipped, vaccinated and dewormed. She is now looking for a home where she will find love and support, which she really needs. Volunteers who know Jess describe her as extremely energetic, social and beloved puppy, who is very attached to her caregiver. Her strong bond with a person comes from her shyness - Jess often seeks support and a sense of security in the proximity of her caregiver. At first, during walks, she was very attached to her leg and didn't know what to do when stopped. Now she is making progress and slowly learning independence. Jess is smart and learns quickly, but requires work on her self-confidence. A potential home should be ready for further work with her, especially on her independence and building self-confidence. Jess is also very joyful - her heart belongs entirely to the person she loves. Her amazing, wolf-like eyes and gentle character make her a unique little dog. At first, she may be a bit mistrustful, but once she gets to know someone, she becomes full of enthusiasm and devotion. Importantly, Jess gets along well with other dogs, so a home where another dog already lives would be welcome. This way, she will have company that can help her in further development and overcoming fears. If you are looking for a dog that needs love and support, and in return will give you her whole heart - Jess is the perfect choice. Come, meet her and let her become part of your life. Jess is waiting for you! Jess was found as a puppy near Lvov, wandering and exhausted and hungry. Oksana, an activist from Ukraine, who runs a temporary shelter for animals, took care of her, and due to the overcrowding, asked us for help in finding a home for Jess.

PL·Show original

Przyjedź, poznaj ją i pozwól, by stała się częścią Twojego życia.

About Jess

What life with Jess looks like

Jess is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja EkoStraż in Wrocław.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jess, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jess?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja EkoStraż handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jess on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jess if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja EkoStraż will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jess already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jess isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja EkoStraż early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jess and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
