Jiji

European Shorthair · Female · Adult · 6 years

Jiji is looking for a forever family. This adorable female cat, approximately 6 years old, came to us after being found wandering. Despite the announcements made, no owner has come forward so far. 💔 According to current legislation, an owner has two months to claim a lost animal. After this deadline, without a claim, Jiji can be adopted permanently starting September 15, 2026. ❤️ Jiji is a calm, gentle and very affectionate cat. We do not yet know her compatibility with other cats, dogs or children. An adaptation period will therefore be necessary for her to find her bearings in her new home. We are looking for a loving family who can offer her an environment where she can continue to enjoy outdoor outings. 🌿 📞 For any inquiries or if you wish to meet Jiji with the intention of adoption, please contact us only by phone at 02. ❗ Please do not contact us via message, email or social media.

About Jiji

What life with Jiji looks like

Jiji is a adult european shorthair cat waiting at SPA Valais in Uvrier.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jiji, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jiji?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SPA Valais handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jiji on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jiji if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SPA Valais will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jiji already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jiji isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SPA Valais early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jiji and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
