Adoption requirements Adoption process Request this animal now! Adoption requirements Adoption process Request this dog now! Joda is one of those dogs who do not simply lie down anywhere and "follow along". He seeks closeness. Real closeness. He would prefer to be everywhere with his people, snuggling up, climbing onto the lap or rolling up next to his humans. He has a cheerful, sometimes almost funny manner. He enjoys playing, moves a lot, and sometimes does little "acrobatic acts", rolling over the floor and simply enjoying attention and contact. It becomes clear quickly: Joda is now very consciously enjoying life. His start was anything but easy. Two female dog were abandoned in a village and had to live with their puppies in an empty house. The dogs somehow survived day by day, occasionally received food from residents, and tried to get through with their puppies. Not all made it. Some were killed by larger dogs. Joda is one of the puppies who survived. An older man eventually took the dogs in and gave them a chance at safety. Today Joda lives on a foster home and shows there how easygoing and attached he is. He gets along well with other dogs, and also knows cats. He already wears a harness, walks on a leash and is housebroken. In addition, he will not grow much more and will remain medium-sized. Of course, he is still in the middle of his development. Also, puberty is not yet fully completed and will continue to need patience, clear orientation, and loving consistency. A positive working dog school can also support him. Joda is looking for people who do not just want a dog, but a true companion in everyday life. A dog who seeks closeness, loves contact and simply wants to belong. Joda is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, treated for fleas and neutered and travels with an EU pet passport. He is adopted after a successful pre-check and against a fee. Thank you very much to his godmother Andrea M., who gave him his name. Date: 17.05.2026 More information about the pre-check and fee

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! About Joda

What life with Joda looks like

Joda is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Joda, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Joda?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Joda on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Joda if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Joda already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Joda isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Joda and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
