Joey

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 2 years

Young Joey is a shy guy looking for a calm and peaceful home. He has settled into foster care really well and is starting to show his personality. Joey loves to play with his toys and will happily entertain himself. Joey is slowly learning to trust humans again and is really starting to gain confidence. Joey's new family will need to just have a little bit of patience and help him continue building that confidence. After being alone and fending for himself for some time Joey really deserves a second chance at having a home to call his own with a family who love him.Once Joey has settled in he will need outside access via catflap away from any busy roads. If you are interested in giving Joey a safe and loving forever home please complete our application form below or leave your name, address, phone number, email address and some details about yourself and your home to: Email: :

About Joey

What life with Joey looks like

Joey is a young adult mixed breed cat waiting at RSPCA North Wiltshire (Oak & Furrows) in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Joey, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Joey?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. RSPCA North Wiltshire (Oak & Furrows) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Joey on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Joey if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — RSPCA North Wiltshire (Oak & Furrows) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Joey already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Joey isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with RSPCA North Wiltshire (Oak & Furrows) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Joey and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
