adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Joleen has found her home! Her story: Working in animal welfare only too often confronts us with tragic fates that are infinitely sad but also give us the drive not to give up! Joleen was picked up by our loving and active animal welfare workers:innen. She lived for weeks with unbearable pain on the street because her left hind leg was severely injured – we suspect that Joleen was hit by a car. By now, her injury is being treated by a doctor. Unfortunately, not the entire leg could be saved. A partial amputation was inevitable. But Joleen is optimistic, as she lives and is currently being cared for and protected at a foster home in Romania until the great happiness finally embraces her life and gives her a forever home. Joleen, who always goes through the day with a smile, belongs to the large dogs with a height of 50 cm and a weight of approximately 18 kg and requires the corresponding space and extended walks. Despite her handicap, the friendly magic paw should receive enough exercise and also mental stimulation. At her foster home, she gets along excellently with cats and fellow animals – but Joleen should preferably eat alone, because a little bit of food envy can flare up when she eats with other four-legged friends. Our beautiful furred nose is house-trained and walks quite naturally on a leash. Overall, she shows herself to be enchanting and friendly. Do you have an open heart for the beautiful Joleen? For her, more than a dream would come true if she finally arrived in a beautiful dog life that gives her warmth, love, and a cozy dog bed – because Joleen has unfortunately not known all of that so far. Against an adoption fee of 500 Euros, she can be microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, treated for fleas, and neutered to travel to you and also brings her EU pet passport. Our grinning cheek would of course also be delighted with a foster home. Once again, a big thank you goes to Margit M. You have given Joleen a beautiful name and thus an identity as well as the chance at healing and a dignified, loved dog life. As of: 29.09.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 29.09.2025

About Joleen

What life with Joleen looks like

Joleen is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Joleen, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Joleen?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Joleen on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Joleen if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Joleen already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Joleen isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Joleen and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
