JOSEBA

Pit Bull Terrier · Male · Senior · 17 years

We present to you this handsome fellow named JOSEBA. When he arrived at our shelter, his eyes conveyed pure sadness and fear. He must have had a very hard time. With the volunteers, he is the most good, faithful, and obedient animal that exists. With the other male companions, he is very dominant. He gets along well with the females. JOSEBA needs a family that can understand the great potential he has, both for wanting and respecting his family, part inherited from the boxer breed, and the strength, inherited from the pit bull breed. He urgently needs a home where he will be respected and loved, as much and in the same way as we do here. INFORMATION TO FUTURE ADOPTER: As a breed especially dedicated to its exploitation for dog breeding or fighting, our shelter will not place the dog in adoption without sterilizing it first. Similarly, no dog will be given without the required licenses as mandated by law for this type of breed. our shelter does not charge for adoptions, but the costs of sterilization and vaccinations will be the responsibility of the adopter. Additionally, special follow-up will be conducted to ensure that our little one is not a victim of any type of abuse by the adopter. our shelter retains the right to remove the dog at any moment if any situation is detected that, under our perspective, could harm him.

About JOSEBA

What life with JOSEBA looks like

JOSEBA is a large senior pit bull terrier dog waiting at APADAC — Protectora de Animales in Spain.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting JOSEBA, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about JOSEBA?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. APADAC — Protectora de Animales handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw JOSEBA on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt JOSEBA if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — APADAC — Protectora de Animales will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is JOSEBA already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if JOSEBA isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with APADAC — Protectora de Animales early rather than rehoming privately; they know JOSEBA and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
