Triple A Benelux: Update 4 september 2026: 3 onwijs schattige nieuwe foto's toegevoegd. Input 20 augustus 2026: Joseph is in zijn uppie gevonden toen hij rondzwierf door de straten van Marbella. Hij had geen chip en we denken dat hij vermoedelijk door een jager is gedumpt. We merken de laatste tijd dat Podenco’s steeds vaker op straat worden aangetroffen. Joseph was mager en niet bepaald vrolijk toen hij bij ons asiel binnenkwam. Hij zag er ook veel ouder uit dan hij daadwerkelijk is, aldus onze dierenarts. Joseph herstelde gelukkig snel. Zodra hij in de gaten had dat er bij ons heerlijk eten werd voorgeschoteld, veranderde zijn stemming en werd hij steeds minder verlegen. We hebben hier te maken met een rasechte Podenco. Joseph vindt niets fijner dan oneindig struinen door het struikgewas. Zijn neus staat op scherp en alle geuren komen bij hem binnen wat hem lekker bezig houdt. Joseph is een onafhankelijke jongen die niet enorm gefocust is op mensen. Hij vertoeft graag in het bijzijn van andere honden (teef of reu) en nodigt ze uit om met hem te spelen. Hij trekt er overigens ook prima in zijn eentje op uit, maar checkt tussendoor wel altijd of zijn maatjes nog in de buurt zijn. Daarna zet hij zijn speurneus weer aan en duikt opnieuw de natuur in. Joseph heeft een uniek en fotogeniek koppie. Jammer dat het zo lastig is om hem goed te fotograferen. Hij kan namelijk moeilijk stil zitten, want dit drukke baasje heeft altijd wat te doen.Hij houdt van snackjes en zal ze met liefde in ontvangst nemen, maar hij is niet enorm gefocust op eten. Hij zal je dus niet omver rennen als je wat lekkers in je zak hebt. Joseph wandelt goed aan de riem. Soms trekt hij in het begin nog wat. Hij is dan logischerwijs zo blij dat hij mee mag dat hij dit jou even laat merken door enthousiast voorop te lopen en jou de kortste en snelste weg te wijzen het asiel uit. Eenmaal buiten in het park keert de rust terug. Vaak zien we Joseph spelen met beste maatje Willow. Joseph was ook degene die zowel een heel verlegen Podenco als ook een kleine angstige Pinscher geholpen heeft om uit hun schulp te komen. Dankzij hem hebben deze twee honden inmiddels hun vertrouwen terug en is ook hun speelsheid naar boven gekomen. Josep heeft een eigen karakter en voelt zich absoluut geen slachtoffer. Hij is daarom opzoek naar iemand die kennis heeft van hoe honden met elkaar communiceren en waar open communicatie zoals een grom of het laten zien van tanden niet gelabeld wordt als negatief gedrag!Joseph heeft tot dusverre nog geen uitje gehad in de stad, maar aangezien het een zelfverzekerde hond is, zou hij waarschijnlijk ook uit de voeten kunnen in een stedelijke omgeving. In dat geval idealiter toch dichtbij de natuur wat voor een Podenco nu eenmaal belangrijk is. Joseph is gelukkig negatief getest op Mediterrane ziekten.
