Joshi

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 4 months

Joshi is an active, playful and very friendly little male dog, full of curiosity and eager to discover the world. He is open and friendly to people. He also gets along well with other dogs and is social. This brings him many good prerequisites for his later life as a family dog. Joshi is currently about 3 months old. With his current weight of around 5.7 kg, he is still a young dog in the middle of his development. Joshi is likely to grow to a medium size. How exactly his size and body shape will develop at this age is of course not yet reliable. Joshi currently lives with our helper Raluca in Zalau. There he can grow up with other dogs and gain important experience in dealing with his fellow dogs. He shows himself friendly and tolerant with them. Living with other dogs offers him important social contacts - but of course, this cannot replace living in a family. Joshi is also already practicing walking on a leash. Of course, he is still at the beginning and has to learn a lot. Housebreaking, leash training, new sounds and situations, staying alone and the many small rules of family life are things he has to learn in his new home. With patience, loving consistency and positive reinforcement, Joshi can grow into a confident companion step by step. His start in life was unfortunately anything but sheltered: Joshi was found together with his brother Gizmo in an abandoned building. The two little puppies were at that time starving, dehydrated and infested with fleas. Fortunately, they were found and brought to safety. Nothing further is known about their origin and their life before. Joshi and Gizmo are siblings. While Gizmo is already described as a very friendly and social little male dog, Joshi is also friendly, playful and interested in his environment. Both now have the chance to leave their difficult past behind and experience a sheltered dog life. For Joshi, we wish for people who enjoy accompanying a young dog as it grows up. A puppy brings a lot of joy and life into the house, but it also needs time, patience, peace and loving upbringing. Joshi wants to play, discover and learn - and at the same time he must first understand how life in a family works. Whoever decides for Joshi does not get a finished dog, but a young dog who still has a lot to learn and develop his personality. He brings a wonderful foundation with him: he is friendly, active, playful and social. Now he needs people who give him security, patiently introduce him to his new daily routine and enjoy discovering the world with him. Joshi travels with a microchip, dewormed and de-loused with his own EU pet passport. Joshi is not yet castrated in a age-appropriate manner.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen!

About Joshi

What life with Joshi looks like

Joshi is a large puppy mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Joshi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Joshi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Joshi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Joshi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Joshi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Joshi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Joshi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
