JOZIO

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy

Jozio - Senior - Male, neutered, born approximately August 2012, shoulder height approximately 47 cm, weight approximately 17 kg, at Belchatow Animal Shelter since August 26, 2026. Miracles happen again and again - Jozio is one such miracle: Emaciated to the bone, Jozio arrived at the animal shelter in a dire condition. It was a rescue for this old, worn-out dog. He was nursed back to health and slowly regained his strength. Jozio shows himself to be very loving and friendly, allowing himself to be touched everywhere and loves being petted. For his age, Jozio is mobile and active, showing curiosity and interest in his surroundings. Even when his surroundings interest him, he seeks our proximity without being intrusive. The animal shelter describes Jozio as follows: Despite everything, Józio is an extremely cheerful senior. He likes people and even jumps into the air with joy at times - a really droll, funny sight! It seems as though for a brief moment, memories of his puppyhood return. We very much hope that someone will be found who will give this dog love and security for his final life phase. A fine, dear and people-oriented senior who should not spend the rest of his life in a shelter kennel. Jozio can walk on a leash and gets along with other dogs. (October 2026 B/KW)

DE·Show original

About JOZIO

What life with JOZIO looks like

JOZIO is a puppy mixed breed dog waiting at Hundehilfe Polen in Dierkshausen.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting JOZIO, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about JOZIO?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hundehilfe Polen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw JOZIO on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt JOZIO if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hundehilfe Polen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is JOZIO already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if JOZIO isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hundehilfe Polen early rather than rehoming privately; they know JOZIO and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
