Julius, Jonny und Jakob

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy

Julius (short-haired), Jonny (brown left eye) and Jakob are a lively, energetic and curious trio. They are friendly to all people, get along well with other dogs, are playful, curious and eager to learn, just as they should be at this age. In unfamiliar surroundings, they are initially a bit shy, but quickly explore the new environments and make contact with strangers without problems. They are likely to reach a medium size, and with their mix of Retriever and Terrier, they are a sporty, hardworking breed. They still need to learn to be left alone, ride in the car, respond to signals and things like traffic, but they walk well on a leash. All three are easily swayed, learn incredibly quickly and show themselves to be attentive and interested. Julius, Jonny and Jakob are each looking for people who enjoy the education and occupation of a young dog and can adapt to (positive) chaos in their lives.

DE·Show original

About Julius, Jonny und Jakob

What life with Julius, Jonny und Jakob looks like

Julius, Jonny und Jakob is a medium-sized puppy mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Reutlingen in Reutlingen.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Julius, Jonny und Jakob, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Julius, Jonny und Jakob?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Reutlingen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Julius, Jonny und Jakob on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Julius, Jonny und Jakob if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Reutlingen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Julius, Jonny und Jakob already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Julius, Jonny und Jakob isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Reutlingen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Julius, Jonny und Jakob and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
