Julius

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 4 months

Julius is a gorgeous black-and-tan puppy with a fluffy coat and plenty of affection to share. One of four siblings, he’s looking for a loving home where he can become part of the family. His mum weighs 7kg and his dad weighs 10kg, so we expect Julius to be a small dog, likely around 7–10kg when fully grown. Adult size can never be guaranteed, but knowing both parents gives us a useful indication. Julius and his siblings are very well socialised and have met other dogs, both big and small. These early experiences are giving them a lovely start as they learn about the world around them. They are a gorgeous, affectionate little bunch, and Julius has plenty to offer a family looking for a small rescue puppy. His new family will need to continue that positive socialisation, giving him time, reassurance and gentle introductions as he settles into his new surroundings. Julius was born following an accidental litter and came into our care alongside his three siblings. We agreed to take the puppies on the condition that their mum was neutered, helping prevent further unplanned litters. Now we’re helping each puppy find a home where they will be loved and cared for throughout their life. In return, there’s a fluffy, affectionate little companion waiting to share your everyday adventures.More details to follow Most of our dogs have been found abandoned as young pups, discarded as unwanted litters, as is often the case in Portugal where neutering is not as common as in the UK. After rescue, all of our pups spend time in private shelters and foster homes, meaning they arrive happy, healthy and well socialised. UK Registered Charity Number 1183775

About Julius

What life with Julius looks like

Julius is a large puppy mixed breed dog waiting at Dogs N Homes Rescue in London.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Julius, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Julius?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs N Homes Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Julius on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Julius if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs N Homes Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Julius already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Julius isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs N Homes Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Julius and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
