♀, born April 30, 2020—active, friendly, and loving. Located in Berlin. INTERMEDIATION HELP — PRIVATE ADOPTION With a heavy heart, we’re looking for a new home for our dog Juna. This decision is anything but easy for us. With the birth of our now 9-month-old child and my husband’s health situation, which has been deteriorating over the past few years, we’re increasingly reaching our limits in our daily lives. Yet Juna deserves the time, exercise, and attention that we can no longer provide her adequately. About Juna: • Born April 30, 2020 • Female, spayed, 29 kg, build comparable to a Labrador • Mixed breed (including Labrador, Dalmatian, Caucasian Shepherd Dog) • Regularly vaccinated and dewormed • No pre-existing medical conditions Food: exclusively dry food (she once had heartburn from snacks) Temperament & Behavior: Juna is an incredibly loving, cuddly, and people-oriented dog. She forms close bonds very quickly and gets along well with other dogs—though she tends to be submissive and sometimes a bit insecure. She’s playful (especially loves tug-of-war), eager to learn, and thanks to plenty of training from the start, she’s very well-behaved. She reliably masters basic commands such as “sit,” “stay,” “paw,” “fetch,” and “here.” Due to our special life situation, she also knows the command “Attention,” at which she stands up and moves out of the way. Indoors, she’s a total calm presence—she sleeps and rests a lot (certainly 15 hours a day) and is very relaxed. Outdoors, she shows her active side: Juna loves exercise, walks, and activities. She’s a wonderful companion and loves shared adventures. She has experience in mantrailing, which she thoroughly enjoys, and loves to retrieve. Juna handles several hours alone or car rides without any problems. She’s familiar with strangers, though she needs good guidance and some support. Things to keep in mind: - Strong prey drive - Free-running only possible to a limited extent (more difficult in the forest than in open fields; however, a long leash works well) - Unfortunately, she’ll eat anything she finds outdoors - Barks when feeling uncertain (e.g., during fireworks, suddenly appearing bicycles, or “unusual” people) On our own property, she’s occasionally alert/territorial, but inside the apartment, especially when visitors are around or in unfamiliar environments, she’s completely unproblematic (she’s used to living in a Berlin rental apartment in a multi-family building). - She loves the garden—but also likes to dig. What we’re looking for: A loving, active home—ideally with a garden or good walking routes—where people enjoy spending time with her and providing her with security. Juna needs exercise, but equally important are closeness and quiet moments. It would be very important to us to find a new home in the Berlin area so that—if it’s a good fit—we can continue staying in touch and occasionally visit Juna. Juna is a loyal soul with a big heart. She has so much love to give and deserves a home where she can continue doing exactly that and become part of the family, just as she is with us.
