Juniper

Mastiff · Female · Puppy · 2 months

Juniper is a bundle of fun looking for a home where she can grow into her personality (and paws). She is located at our Old Windsor Centre. Juniper has been very happy to meet all our staff here and enjoys fuss and attention. Being so young she will need all of her basic training, new owners will need to prepare for the puppy stage training to help her become a well-rounded adult dog. She is going to be large dog; her new family will need to feel comfortable managing a large dog and continue her socialisation as she grows. Plenty of toys will be needed as Juniper loves to play. They are also a great distraction for when she gets excitable and can show puppy mouthing, a rubber toy can be just as fun as your hands. Juniper could live in a home with teens, so everyone could help with her training, but due to her bubbly personality younger children wouldn’t be right for her. She could potentially live with another very confident dog who is able to cope with typical puppy behaviours, such as exuberant play, learning manners and testing boundaries. A mature, calm but resilient canine companion could be a great influence for her in the right home. Juniper will need her own private and secure garden, she can utilise this area for house training, burning off energy and having fun play time. If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about, Juniper you can e-mail our rehoming team on to register your interest.

About Juniper

What life with Juniper looks like

Juniper is a large puppy/kitten mastiff dog waiting at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Juniper, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Juniper?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Juniper on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Juniper if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Juniper already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Juniper isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Juniper and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
