adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Jutta has found her home! Her story: The wonderful Jutta did not have an easy path. From one home to another, Jutta was passed around and eventually her owner passed away. So Jutta came to us from the Animal Police and had to spend some time in the shelter before she was finally able to travel to the Stray Nest. This new chapter is meant to be the beginning of a happy life for her. Jutta is an intelligent, people-oriented female dog who craves closeness and mental stimulation. She loves spending time with people or her dog buddies and wants to belong. According to her previous owners, Jutta's parents were purebred German Shepherds that brought a high learning readiness and work enthusiasm. With a height of about 55 cm and a weight of 21 kg, Jutta counts as a medium-sized dog. Her gentle gaze and loyal aura make her a true beauty. Despite the challenges of the past, she has not lost her zest for life. How well she knows life in the house – house training, being alone – cannot be precisely determined, but with love, patience, much time, and understanding, she will surely adapt quickly. A visit to a positively working dog training class could give her additional support and make her integration easier. Jutta can be easily leashed and runs nicely on a leash and is happy to be allowed to go for walks. Jutta is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. With her EU pet passport, she is ready to move into her new home. After a positive assessment. Would you like to give Jutta a home and show her what it means to be part of a family, then come by the Stray Nest and get to know Jutta – she is waiting for her person! After a positive. Many thanks to Mareike B.! You gave Jutta her name. A big thank you also goes to Katrin L., who took on a monthly sponsorship for Jutta. As of: 12.06.

About Jutta

What life with Jutta looks like

Jutta is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jutta, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jutta?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jutta on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jutta if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jutta already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jutta isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jutta and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
