Adopt Kankha

Husky · Female · Puppy · 8 months

Kankha is a young dog, 8 months old, from a litter of two males and two females with whom she has always lived. They all grew up together in a small muddy yard, with very little access to the outside world and essential discoveries for their healthy development. Having practically known nothing outside of this environment, Kankha is now discovering a lot of new things. The noises, new situations, walks, and different environments are still completely unknown to her. Like many puppies who have grown up in isolation, she will need time, patience, and guidance to learn to smoothly adapt to the world around her. Despite this lack of socialization, Kankha is very sociable with humans. She enjoys contact, willingly seeks the presence of her caregivers, and likes to share moments of play and companionship. She is a gentle and cheerful young dog who greatly enjoys running with humans and playing with her sister. However, her entire education remains to be built. Kankha does not know about leashes, walks, or the basics of living in a house. Therefore, she will have to learn gradually: walking on a leash, exploring new environments, managing emotions, household rules, and basic training. Since she has never truly been exposed to the outside world, some situations may impress or make her hesitant at first. It will be important to offer her a reassuring, consistent, and kind framework to help her gain confidence at her own pace.

Read original (fr)

About Kankha

What life with Kankha looks like

Kankha is a puppy/kitten husky dog waiting at Perwez) in Sans Collier.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kankha, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kankha?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Perwez) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kankha on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kankha if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Perwez) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kankha already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kankha isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Perwez) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kankha and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
