🐾 KAREL - super dog is looking for a home! Karel is 2 years old and is a dog who definitely feels best in the company of humans. He loves people, enjoys spending time with them, and is really great on walks - he walks nicely on a leash and is a pleasant companion for outings. He does not get along with other dogs, so we are looking for a home where he will be the only dog. His attitude towards cats is currently unknown. Karel is ready for adoption: βœ”οΈ vaccinated βœ”οΈ chipped βœ”οΈ neutered We are looking for a quiet, responsible home for him, which will accept his character and give him the opportunity to start a normal life outside the shelter. πŸ“ Animal Shelter in ZamoΕ›Δ‡ πŸ“ž 84 641 12 86 | 783 856 089 If Karel has caught your attention, call and meet him in person. 🐾

About Karel

What life with Karel looks like

Karel is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window β€” house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

πŸ‡΅πŸ‡±Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Karel, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Karel?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Karel on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Karel if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Karel already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Karel isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Karel and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
