adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process The little Karlson has found a home! His story: Busag, Romania. Sweet, sweeter, the sweetest: Karlson! The little puppy was found alone. What could have happened to him?! But for now, he is safe. At the moment, he lives with many other dogs on a junkyard, where he is cared for by loving animal rescuers. The little fluff ball is puppy-like, very cuddly, and always wants to be cuddled. Currently, he weighs about 3 kg and is roughly 28 cm tall. We assume that Karlson will remain small. Karlson is looking for people who won't have too many expectations of him and will show him how a normal dog life works. He is still a baby and has a lot to learn. Sometimes, a mishap shouldn't be held against him, and Karlson should always be guided with a positive reinforcement training style. He is looking forward to his new life with beautiful nature walks, many cuddle hours, and also a visit to the puppy school. For the first year of life, puppies should be as little alone as possible. Additionally, the more demanding pubertal phase is approaching. The hormone chaos turns the lives of these little rascals upside down. They "forget" much of what they have learned so far, and their ears are on full blast. Therefore, it is especially important during this phase to consistently—but lovingly—educate. And there is also good news: This phase will pass! Karlson will be flight-ready by the end of April, as soon as he is vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas. He will be named by you, Jane I.! Stand: 20.03.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Der kleine Karlson hat sein Zuhause gefunden! Seine Geschichte: Busag, Rumänien. Süß, süßer, am süßesten: Karlson! Der kleine Welpe wurde allein aufgefunden. Was hätte ihm alles zustoßen können?! Hast du dich in Karlson verkuckt? Dann melde dich sehr gerne bei uns. Auch eine Pflegestelle wäre hilfreich. Vielen Dank Jane I.! Du hast Karlson seinen Namen geschenkt! Stand: 20.03.2024

About Karlson

What life with Karlson looks like

Karlson is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Karlson, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Karlson?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Karlson on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Karlson if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Karlson already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Karlson isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Karlson and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
