Karmelka

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 5 months

Name: Karmelka Breed: Mixed Breed Date of Birth: 2021 Gender: Female Size: Medium Weight: 18 kg Karmelka is a roughly five-year-old female dog who came to us from the town of Ostrów Mazowiecka. Unfortunately, she doesn’t know how to walk on a leash, which made it quite difficult to take her photos, as she couldn’t trust the leash at all. She has a gentle disposition toward people, loves being petted, and is happy to be held in your arms. She shows no interest in other dogs; at the moment, she’s calm and not stressed. Karmelka absolutely loves human company and needs support and patience while learning to walk on a leash. She needs someone who will shower her with lots of love and become a permanent, loyal friend. DON’T BUY—ADOPT! ANY DOG THAT ENTERS OUR SHELTER IS SUBJECT TO A 14-DAY QUARANTINE PERIOD. If the owner doesn’t pick up the dog within this time, it will be vaccinated, microchipped, spayed/neutered, and we’ll start looking for a new guardian for it. To adopt, you must complete the application form available on our website, agree to a pre- or post-adoption home visit, and sign an adoption agreement. Imię: Karmelka Rasa: Mix Ur : 2021 Płeć: Samica Wielkość: średnia Waga:18 kg Karmelka to około pięcioletnia sunia, która trafiła do nas z Miasta Ostrów Mazowiecka. About Karmelka

What life with Karmelka looks like

Karmelka is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Karmelka, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Karmelka?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Karmelka on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Karmelka if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Karmelka already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Karmelka isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Karmelka and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
