Adopt Kata sos

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

Kata arrived with her siblings when they were barely three months old. They came with a lot of fear; human contact was not something they were accustomed to, and at first, it was not easy to handle them. With patience, respect, and lots of love, they have progressed little by little. Today, at a year and a half, Kata is one of the most sociable and charming of all the siblings. All of them grew up in the animal shelter, where they continue to seek their opportunity. When you know her and she feels safe, she lets you pet her and even enjoys the affection. With a treat or a little playtime, you soon win her over. She usually doesn’t have a problem approaching, and, in general, she reacts very well. Still, she remains a bit shy, so she needs a compassionate and patient home that respects her pace, gives her space, and understands her needs. She gets along very well with other cats, so she would be ideal to coexist with a feline companion that gives her confidence. Kata just needs a chance to show how special she is. The "blond SOS" were picked up from the facilities of a restaurant. They came with a lot of fear, and it wasn’t easy to handle them, but with the patient work of the cat volunteers for their socialization, they have improved a great deal. Although there is still work to do, the majority no longer snarl or hide when we interact with them; in fact, they even enjoy petting and purr. Very soon, they will be affectionate cats. FELV-FIV negative. Already vaccinated and spayed. Cat puppies must live in pairs for their best socialization.

About Kata sos

What life with Kata sos looks like

Kata sos is a young adult mixed breed cat waiting at ALBA Protectora Madrid in Madrid.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kata sos, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kata sos?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ALBA Protectora Madrid handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kata sos on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kata sos if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ALBA Protectora Madrid will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kata sos already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kata sos isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ALBA Protectora Madrid early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kata sos and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
