Katti

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 8 years

The eight-year-old Katti was already rehomed once by us when she was a young kitten. Back then, she was very shy but found a home where her people met her with patience, understanding, and lots of love, allowing her to grow into a friendly and affectionate female cat. However, Katti has now lost this home due to an illness of her owners. This is very hard on the pretty tigress. Especially the other cats in her foster home are troubling her. Unfortunately, she has to deal with a "gang" that has been living together for a long time and is led by the "female dog" Dreamy. Therefore, it is extremely difficult for Katti to find her place. We believe she misses her life as a single princess and would clearly prefer such an exclusive status for the future. Katti is friendly towards humans. She visibly longs for attention and cuddles but rarely finds the inner peace to enjoy these things due to her current situation. Often, she completely withdraws when her fellow animals become too close. That's why we hope that Katti will quickly find people who can "rescue" her and give her their full, undivided attention. In Kattis new realm, things should be rather calm. A too hectic household with many (small) children and visitors would stress her too much. At first, especially her people should have a bit of patience so that the unsettled cat can forget about her stopover at the our shelter and adjust to her new home at her own pace. This won't take long because Katti surely longs for cozy sofa sessions with familiar humans. Other animals must not live in the household. Children should be somewhat older and preferably have experience with sensitive cats. As Katti is a cat who retreats to a quiet and safe spot during stress, there needs to be such a place in her new home that is exclusively hers and whose "untouchability" all family members must accept. After an adjustment period, Katti needs secure free roam. For more information: 0157 – 52 68 76 61.

Weitere Informationen: 0157 – 52 68 76 61.

About Katti

What life with Katti looks like

Katti is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Katzenhilfe Neuwied e.V. in Neuwied.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Katti, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Katti?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Katzenhilfe Neuwied e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Katti on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Katti if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Katzenhilfe Neuwied e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Katti already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Katti isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Katzenhilfe Neuwied e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Katti and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
