adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Our lively Keno with the sweet scruffy nose is waiting for your request! Keno was found by our animal rescuer Celia in Romania near the neighbors. Because he chased the chickens, he was sentenced to a life on a leash. Celia managed to convince the owner to have Keno neutered and find him a home – without chickens 😉 Keno is estimated to be about 1 year old and has a pleasant, medium size of 45 cm and 15 kg. He is friendly with people and also knows children. We do not recommend him to cats or other small animals. Although it could also be that Keno simply just had an appetite…Keno shows a cuddly side and enjoys receiving attention. According to his age, he is active and wants to conquer the world. Of course, he still brings some pubertal antics that require a loving but also consistent upbringing. We wish for Keno people who are ready to show him how an appropriate life works. He doesn't know that and has to learn a lot. But with patient and empathetic people, he will surely learn the dog ABC soon. Leash training, house training, being left alone – these are just a few things that Keno still doesn't know and has to practice a lot. A visit to a dog training class would also certainly help him, just like regular contact with his fellow animals. People who are convinced by a positively reinforcing upbringing style and are willing to not only physically but also mentally challenge Keno are exactly right for Keno. Our Keno is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea treated. He brings his EU pet passport and can be released into a life of freedom after a positive Keno gives Keno a wonderful life in freedom? Many thanks to Laura W.! You have given Keno a name and thus an identity! Date: 03.02.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Vielen Dank Laura W.!

About Keno

What life with Keno looks like

Keno is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Keno, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Keno?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Keno on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Keno if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Keno already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Keno isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Keno and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
