Kicker kwam in opvang tijdens een grote vangactie. Dat bleek hoog tijd, want een forse longontsteking zou binnen de kortste keren voor grote problemen gezorgd hebben. Gelukkig konden we tijdig ingrijpen en is hij ondertussen hersteld. Kicker kan hierdoor wel niet meer de wijde wereld intrekken. Hij komt een beetje met een handleiding. Tijdens zijn tijd in opvang heeft hij al heeft wat stappen gezet wat betreft socialisatie maar hij blijft een beetje een koppige kerel. Aaien is niet aan hem besteed, hij heeft liever dat je niet te dicht contact met hem zoekt. Maar nieuwsgierig naar zijn baasje is hij wel... Vanop afstand voelt hij zich de man en volgt hij graag alles nauwgezet. ’s Nachts als (hij denkt dat) zijn opvangmama slaapt kruipt hij graag aan het voeteneinde of gaat hij trappelen op haar benen. Niet bewegen is dan de boodschap...
