Kira

Podenco · Female · Senior · 9 years

Kira's story is one of resilience and hope. She was once a beloved pet, living a life of comfort and love. But when she was found on the streets, her life had taken a drastic turn. She was malnourished, infested with mange, and filled with fear. Our dedicated volunteer rescued her just in time. Kira was then brought to Molí de Fals, where she began her journey to recovery. With food, care, patience, and lots of love, Kira slowly regained her strength and confidence. Thanks to Leonor and her family, she found the support she needed to heal. Today, Kira is healthy, strong, and content. She's ready for a forever home, but not just any home will do. We're looking for a family that understands her needs, offers stability, patience, and commitment. A family that will give her the love and security she deserves. At Molí de Fals, no animal is forced to leave. They are safe, cared for, and loved. We only put them up for adoption when we believe they can thrive in a new life, and when that new life is truly better for them. So, if you're ready to give Kira the home she deserves, you'll need to win her trust first, and then convince us that you're the right fit for her.

ES·Show original

Y nosotros tampoco.

About Kira

What life with Kira looks like

Kira is a senior podenco dog waiting at Asociación Defensa Équidos (ADE) in Spain.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee. Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kira, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kira?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Asociación Defensa Équidos (ADE) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kira on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kira if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Asociación Defensa Équidos (ADE) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Kira already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kira isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Asociación Defensa Équidos (ADE) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kira and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
