Klausi

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 4 months

♂, born ca. 3/2026, puppy-typical - friendly - social in Bulgaria VERMITTLUNGSHILFE !!! Klausi is a small Terrier mix male, born around 03/2026 – a son of Moon. He is currently about 21 cm tall and will grow a bit more but is expected to remain small. Klausi was found with his siblings, the dog friend of Mama Moon and her offspring on a cemetery. And the best part: They all came up to people happily, let themselves be touched and secured without fear. Today they are housed by a private animal rights activist, safe – and lovingly cared for. With his little button nose Klausi is really melting. You can already see that this young guy will later know exactly how to charmingly wrap his humans around his paw. In the run-out he runs playfully, plays curiously with the other puppies and cuddles up again and again with Mama and siblings – a cheerful, lively little dog who loves closeness as much as adventure. For Klausi we wish people who are aware of what it means to raise a puppy: with time, patience, calmness and lots of positive reinforcement. He still needs to learn the dog basics, house training, being alone and walking on a leash – but with loving consistency he will develop into a wonderful companion. What is important to us: Klausi should be seen as a dog – not as an accessory. He needs real walks, exciting impressions, encouragement and people who enjoy accompanying him step by step in life. A home with a social first dog that is experienced with puppies we can imagine very well – Klausi knows life in the pack and enjoys doggy company. Visiting a dog school would also be great so he can learn playfully and have contact with dogs of his own age. And because Klausi is so people-oriented: It would be wonderful if he could come to work sometimes, if possible. Because being alone at home all day is just boring for such a young dog. What Klausi clearly does not want: city life. In August, after the basic vaccination and rabies vaccination, Klausi will be ready to travel. Klausi will be vaccinated and chipped. For the castration and Snap 4-D test he is still too young. He is in a private foster home in Bulgaria. The deposit fee is €580. Do you have a suitable home for Klausi? Was Klausi ganz klar nicht möchte: Innenstadtleben. About Klausi

What life with Klausi looks like

Klausi is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. in Berlin.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Klausi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Klausi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Klausi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Klausi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Klausi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Klausi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Klausi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
