Klein Buksi

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 4 years

Buksi is a Labrador-Kuvasz mix, extremely intelligent and people-oriented male dog who has unfortunately lost his home several times. He was taken to Illatos út, later adopted, then returned due to shedding. He lived in harmony with his third owner but had to find a new family again due to changes in their life situation. Buksi is extremely friendly towards people, patient and playful with children, enjoys fetching, learning and participating in group activities. He generally gets along well with other dogs, has an adaptable nature, but is also energetic, active and loves to move around and be part of the family. He is very smart, learns quickly, but his attention can sometimes be easily distracted, so consistent training and engagement are needed. We are looking for a new owner who leads an active life, enjoys hiking and spending time with their dog, and understands that a dog with such fur will shed and accepts this as a natural part of having the dog. In return, they get a devoted, intelligent and loving companion who will happily participate in family daily life. To inquire about him and book an appointment for a personal meeting, please call 06 30 221 1299 from Monday to Saturday between 10 am and 3 pm, or click the Like button.

About Klein Buksi

What life with Klein Buksi looks like

Klein Buksi is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Noé Állatotthon in Budapest.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Klein Buksi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Klein Buksi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Noé Állatotthon handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Klein Buksi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Klein Buksi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Noé Állatotthon will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Klein Buksi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Klein Buksi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Noé Állatotthon early rather than rehoming privately; they know Klein Buksi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
