Kleiner Münsterländer “ Quinn „

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 6 years

Quinn, a 6-year-old purebred German Wirehaired Pointer, is being rehomed due to increasing chronic illness, loss of hunting grounds, and professional changes. Quinn was born on February 29, 2020, is neutered, and has papers. He has lived with us since 8 weeks old and has always had the same caregivers. He earned general proficiency in 2021 with top grades and is a willing and attentive dog. He excels in tracking and retrieving, but has no experience with social hunting as he doesn't get along with every dog. He is attached to his handler and prefers to be with them, but can also be left alone for several hours (especially in the city or at a restaurant, where he prefers to stay at home). He enjoys car rides (in the trunk) and can tell by looking at his handler's belongings whether he can come along and what the plans are. He is not a kennel dog and sleeps in our bedroom. He is also being introduced to a crate in the house to provide a safe retreat. Quinn is a strong-willed dog who prefers to be an only child, allowing his handler to focus on him. Unfortunately, this has become increasingly difficult for us, leading to uncertainty and a misbehavior incident. We are working with a dog trainer in the Vöhringen area who specializes in hunting dogs and can help his new handler train him if desired. Quinn has his quirks, but with the right handling and communication, he is a great everyday and hunting companion. However, he could easily overwhelm an inexperienced handler. We are looking for a quiet home with an experienced handler, no other pets or children, where Quinn can hunt and live out his talents and abilities.

DE·Show original

About Kleiner Münsterländer “ Quinn „

What life with Kleiner Münsterländer “ Quinn „ looks like

Kleiner Münsterländer “ Quinn „ is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Jagdhunde in Not e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kleiner Münsterländer “ Quinn „, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kleiner Münsterländer “ Quinn „?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Jagdhunde in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kleiner Münsterländer “ Quinn „ on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kleiner Münsterländer “ Quinn „ if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Jagdhunde in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kleiner Münsterländer “ Quinn „ already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kleiner Münsterländer “ Quinn „ isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Jagdhunde in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kleiner Münsterländer “ Quinn „ and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
