KLINK

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Adult · 6 years

Born in 2020, when KLINK arrived at the animal shelter, he was a shadow of a dog - neglected, terrified and withdrawn. He was found by the road, and his appearance and behavior effectively scared away anyone who tried to approach him. For the first few months, he did not allow anyone to come near him, reacting defensively and keeping people at a distance. Fortunately, one of the animal shelter staff decided to give him a chance. Thanks to great patience, consistency and heart put into working with Klink, it worked. He began to trust, go for walks with his volunteers, sniff around and enjoy the surroundings. Although he is still an insecure dog and still needs time to trust someone - he can scare strangers with a threatening face, and his past was probably marked by bad experiences, his attitude has changed a lot. He has his favorites, responds to calls, wags his tail, is curious, cheerful, focused on smells, and there is completely new life in his eyes. Once he knows and accepts someone, he allows himself to be petted and easily has the leash put on and taken off. On walks, he proved that he gets along well with other dogs. To those he met on the walk, he did not show aggressive traits - he did not react with aggression, did not look for conflicts, and his communication with dogs was very clear and calm. He can avoid tension, signal his needs and adapt to the company of other four-legged friends. It seems that he can be a really good companion for a stable dog friend. Currently, KLINK is undergoing skin and coat care. There is still a long way to go for Klink, but he has already made a huge step towards a better life. Will there be someone who loves him as he is? Who will give him a home, patience and warmth, which he so much deserves?

Obecnie Klink przechodzi pielęgnację skóry i sierści.

About KLINK

What life with KLINK looks like

KLINK is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Zielonej Górze in Zielona Góra.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting KLINK, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about KLINK?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Zielonej Górze handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw KLINK on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt KLINK if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Zielonej Górze will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is KLINK already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if KLINK isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Zielonej Górze early rather than rehoming privately; they know KLINK and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
