adoption requirements adoption process Adopt now this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Kluntje can stay forever in his foster family! His story: For all the pros out there: Kluntje is looking for his match! The approximately 11-month-old mixed-breed male dog with the beautiful, dark-streaked fur and an intriguing personality is searching for a confident hand that guides him through life. Kluntje is certainly not a dog for beginners, but for the right person, this charming fellow will definitely be the perfect companion. Which breeds are hidden in Kluntje we can only guess. Perhaps Malinois or Kangals were involved. Kluntje is our Michel from Lönneberga, full of energy and ideas, who wants to explore the world. He questions everything and everyone and therefore needs an experienced and competent leader who gives him security and freedom within clear boundaries. Kluntje is in the middle of puberty and is testing his boundaries with passion. Loving patience and sovereign consequences are needed here so that Kluntje can fully develop his potential. For sure, this handsome fellow has a lot of potential! He is not a dog who is satisfied with just 0815 walks – he longs for dog sports activities where he can be physically and mentally challenged according to his abilities. Nose work, mantrailing, or similar activities would especially please him and help to channel his energy meaningfully. At the same time, Kluntje is also a dog at home who has learned to enjoy his naps. And for pranks and games, he is always available. Kluntje is a good mood dog, a class clown, an absolutely lovable treasure. In his foster family, he has already learned a lot and has won every heart. However, he would definitely prefer a real male friendship to life in a bustling family. Our Kluntje is the perfect companion for the one who understands and sees him and is always a little wiser than he is himself. So to all sportsmen with brain power! Kluntje is eager to get to know you and exchange ideas. And if the chemistry is right, he can pack his bags and start his new, safe, and loving life. Kluntje is currently chemically neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea treated, and brings his EU pet passport. We and Kluntje look forward to your inquiry, and with a little luck, he can start his new life soon. We would wish him such a start in this world! Many thanks Tanja W. + family! You gave Kluntje his name! Date: 24.02.

Also an alle Sportskanonen mit Brain-Power! Vielen Dank Tanja W. + Familie! Ihr habt Kluntje seinen Namen geschenkt! Stand: 24.02.2024

About Kluntje

What life with Kluntje looks like

Kluntje is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kluntje, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kluntje?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kluntje on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kluntje if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kluntje already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kluntje isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kluntje and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
