Kminek

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 4 years

Kminek is a young male cat, about whom we know very little. He approached someone who fed him and found him a home. He was shy, but not strongly feral. He stayed in the new home for one day, apparently "jumping under the ceiling," and someone wanted a "cuddly" cat. And that's how he ended up at the animal shelter. At the animal shelter, Kminek has adjusted quite well. He gets along with other cats, is very nice, uses the litter box, and goes out to the yard. Unfortunately, he hides from people, we can't even take his photo, and we don't want to corner him, so as not to scare him. We can only observe him using a camera installed in the cat room. It is practically impossible to socialize him with human presence at the animal shelter. We are looking for a quiet home and people who are not bothered by his initial shyness and will let him discover at his own pace that humans are great. Of course, we are looking for a home that doesn't go out, with secured windows/balcony. Kminek is about 4 years old, neutered, dewormed, vaccinated, and microchipped. He has negative FIV/FeLV tests.

PL·Show original

Kminek to młody kocurek, o którym niewiele wiemy. Przybłąkał się do kogoś, kto go dokarmiał i znalazł mu dom. Był nieśmiały, ale nie mocno zdziczały. W nowym domu przebywał jeden dzień, podobno "skakał pod sufit", a ktoś chciał mieć "przytulastego" kota. I w taki sposób trafił do schroniska. Możemy go jedynie obserwować za pomocą kamery zainstalowanej w kociarni. W schronisku oswojenie go z obecnością człowieka jest właściwie niemożliwe.

About Kminek

What life with Kminek looks like

Kminek is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku in Poland.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kminek, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kminek?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kminek on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kminek if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kminek already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kminek isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kminek and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
