Adopt Panda

Mixed Breed · Male

Panda is a calm, friendly male cat who came to the Shelter in mid-March. We are showing him to you now because his treatment took a lot of time. Panda has bravely endured the treatment related to an eye injury. Medical procedures do not cause him much discomfort, especially if they are followed by a tasty treat. He is a bit lazy, but very friendly. He is an ideal cat for a home where quiet and close contact are valued. He is able to live with other cats, preferably kittens. The company of other cats is possible but will require some more work. Occasionally we see him in short fights with other males - it seems he is tired of the large number of roommates in the cat room. Usually, we see him on the floor or just a little higher. Entering the adult cat room, it's easy to confuse him with Pixel - Panda has a black back and is a bit less energetic than Pixel. In the Shelter since: March 2025 Attitude towards people: very social Temperament: calm, balanced Attitude towards dogs: can live peacefully with a calm dog Attitude towards cats: prefers the company of kittens Activity level: moderate / low Attitude towards children: positive Registration number: K26/2025 Located: in the adult cat room Photo:

About Panda

What life with Panda looks like

Panda is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Azyl dla Zwierząt w Tarnowie in Tarnów.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Panda, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Panda?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Azyl dla Zwierząt w Tarnowie handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Panda on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Panda if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Azyl dla Zwierząt w Tarnowie will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Panda already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Panda isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Azyl dla Zwierząt w Tarnowie early rather than rehoming privately; they know Panda and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
