This happy boy is Kenzo; a 9-year-old mixed breed between a Labrador and a Golden Retriever. He came to our shelter because his owner, due to circumstances, could no longer care for him. Despite his age, Kenzo is still enthusiastic and energetic. He loves walking, playing, and enjoys plenty of attention. At his previous home, he could be alone for half a day without any problems. Although Kenzo likes going out, he now needs to be limited. He has torn his cruciate ligament and needs to have surgery. Because of his restlessness in the shelter and to ensure the best possible recovery, it would be better if he continues this process with a new owner. In a home environment, Kenzo will experience more calmness than in his current stay. Therefore, we are looking for someone who is open to becoming a temporary foster family. The costs related to the operation will be fully covered by us. In addition to the torn cruciate ligament, it has also been determined that he has arthritis in his knees. For this, he receives painkillers, which he will probably need to take for the rest of his life. In addition, he gets a supplement to support his joints (glucosamine). He generally reacts kindly towards other dogs. However, due to his upcoming surgery, it is not advisable to place him with another dog. Considering he is a people-pleaser, he could be placed with children. Are you the person who can support him before and after his surgery and give him a good life afterwards? Deze blije jongen is Kenzo; een 9-jarige kruising tussen een Labrador en een Golden Retriever. Hij is bij ons in de opvang terechtgekomen omdat zijn eigenaar wegens omstandigheden helaas niet langer voor hem kon zorgen. Ondanks zijn leeftijd is Kenzo nog een enthousiaste en energieke hond. Hij houdt van wandelen, spelen en geniet volop van aandacht. Bij zijn vorige eigenaar kon hij echter zonder problemen een halve dag alleen thuis zijn. Hoewel Kenzo graag mee op pad gaat, moet hij hier nu in beperkt worden. Hij heeft namelijk zijn kruisband gescheurd en moet hiervoor geopereerd worden. Vanwege zijn onrust in de opvang en we het herstel zo optimaal mogelijk willen, zou het beter zijn als hij dit traject bij een nieuwe eigenaar kan doorlopen. In een huiselijke omgeving zal Kenzo meer rust ervaren dan in zijn verblijf. We zoeken daarom iemand die ervoor open staat om eerst tijdelijk pleeggezin te worden. De kosten omtrent de operatie worden volledig door ons vergoed. Naast dat hij een gescheurde kruisband heeft, is ook geconstateerd dat hij artrose in zijn knieën heeft. Hiervoor krijgt hij pijnstillers, die hij waarschijnlijk levenslang zal moeten gebruiken. Daarnaast krijgt hij een supplement ter ondersteuning van zijn gewrichten (glucosamine). Richting honden reageert hij over het algemeen vriendelijk. Echter is het vanwege zijn operatie die hem te wachten staat, niet verstandig om hem bij een andere hond te plaatsen.
