Deze knappe jongen is Chevy een boerenfox van 6 jaar (30-06-2020). HIj is bij ons afgestaan omdat de eigenaar wegens persoonlijke omstandigheden niet meer voor hem kon zorgen. Hij is samen met Chanel binnengekomen, deze twee zouden heel goed samen geplaatst kunnen worden, maar alleen kan ook. Chevy is een actieve jongen, hij houdt er daarom ook van om lange wandelingen te maken, bijvoorbeeld in het bos of poldergebied. Hier kan hij veel meer ontspannen dan in een woonwijk. De drukke stad is niet voor hem weggelegd daar wordt hij nerveus van. Tijdens de wandeling is het de kunst om zelf de rust te bewaken, wanneer je onrustig met hem mee gaat lopen of harder gaat lopen, blijft hij langer in zijn nerveuze gedrag hangen. Wanneer je zelf een stapje langzamer doet en rust uitstraalt, gaat hij sneller snuffelen en wordt de gehele wandeling rustiger. De eerste dagen dat hij binnen was vond Chevy het wat spannend en dat kan hij nog vinden wanneer hij nieuwe mensen leert kennen, vooral mannen vindt hij wat spannender en als de kennismaking te snel gaat kan hij happen. Als hij je eenmaal kent dan is het een echte knuffelkont en dol op snoepjes. Chevy wordt het liefst geplaatst bij mensen die bereid zijn om wat met hem te gaan doen, naast de fijne wandelingen zou hij bijvoorbeeld detectie of andere speursporten erg leuk vinden. Dit zou ook helpen zijn zelfvertrouwen te vergroten. Chevy kan als hij enthousiast is, als hij het spannend vindt, als er visite binnenkomt en vermoedelijk ook als de deurbel gaat, gaan blaffen. Daarom adviseren we voor hem geen appartement in verband met geluidsoverlast. Dit gedrag is zeker trainbaar, maar dat heeft wel tijd en de juiste begeleiding nodig. Richting onbekende honden kan hij wisselend reageren. Hij heeft op het asiel kennis gemaakt met reuen en teven, maar je ziet dat hij de voorkeur heeft voor teefjes om mee te spelen. Hij zou bij een andere hond geplaatst kunnen worden, maar mag ook alleen op zoek naar een nieuw huisje. Het is niet bekend of Chevy alleen thuis kan blijven. Het is daarom belangrijk om hier de eerste paar weken/maanden rekening mee te houden en dit rustig op te bouwen. Vanwege zijn onzekere gedrag plaatsen wij hem niet bij kinderen.
