Koffee

American Staffordshire Terrier · Male · Adult · 6 years

Koffee is a gentle boy looking for a new, loving home due to time constraints. His owner reports: "I've had Koffee since he was a puppy and he is a sweet family dog. There's nothing that makes Koffee happier than spending time with people, young or old. He gets excited during visits but quickly calms down and loves cuddling on the couch. Dog encounters generally go well, but he can react to some dogs, especially larger male dogs, if not distracted in time. He is used to being left alone for up to four hours with us but can get a bit anxious when we leave. Koffee also becomes nervous around loud noises like vacuum cleaners, kitchen appliances, and fireworks. He has no confirmed allergies, but he has occasionally licked his paws and gotten a little bald on his belly. I trim his nails myself; he stands patiently but finds it uncomfortable. He also needs support during vet visits. We have two young children and plan to have more, which means Koffee doesn't get the time and stimulation he deserves."

About Koffee

What life with Koffee looks like

Koffee is a medium-sized adult american staffordshire terrier dog waiting at Hundar Utan Hem in Stockholm.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇸🇪Adopting from Sweden

Swedish shelters require an adoption application and home visit. Animals are chipped, vaccinated, and sterilized. Cross-border placements within the EU use the standard pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Koffee, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Koffee?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hundar Utan Hem handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Koffee on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Koffee if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hundar Utan Hem will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Koffee already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Koffee isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hundar Utan Hem early rather than rehoming privately; they know Koffee and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (SV). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
