Kolett

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

A sweet little Collie named Kolett has a rather unusual story. On June 13th, 2026, she was found wandering outside the town of Lajosmizse in Hungary and taken to the local animal shelter. Fortunately, she was easily caught and brought to safety. A microchip check revealed that her chip was registered, but unfortunately, she was listed as deceased in the system. Her owner could not be reached either. Perhaps it had to happen this way. Kolett has completed quarantine and is now looking for a new family who can always rely on her. She's just irresistible. She's a friendly, loving, and affectionate dog, a real sunshine that brings love and joy into any home. Of course, she may get intimidated by unfamiliar situations, but her curiosity quickly takes over. She enjoys every caress and attention and soaks it up like a sponge. The little one needs a lot of love and closeness and never wants to miss this again. Kolett still has some training to do on what a dog should know for life as a family member, but she's a smart four-legged friend who will quickly understand how things work and wants to please her humans. Although she is small, she has the same needs as her larger canine friends and does not want to be seen as a souvenir. Kolett gets along well with other dogs and is currently (July 7th, 2026) being integrated into a mixed pack. We are looking for loving and dog-enthusiastic people who will take Kolett in as a real family member, give her a happy and carefree life, and show her what she's capable of. Adventurous two-legged friends who can finally give her all the love, care, and security she needs, provide her with dog-appropriate exercise, and show her the bright side of life. Kolett will surely develop into a great companion who brings a lot of joy and will stand by her humans through thick and thin. Who wants to enter into a lifelong dog-human partnership with Kolett? Kolett can travel from around early/mid August 2026 if she finds a home or foster family.

About Kolett

What life with Kolett looks like

Kolett is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Animal Happyend in Animal Happyend.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kolett, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kolett?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Happyend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kolett on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kolett if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Happyend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kolett already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kolett isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Happyend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kolett and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
