Adopt Koppa

Labrador Retriever · Male

Past: expulsion My character: kind; gentle; had an education; does not like loneliness; affectionate; not attentive; does not tolerate cold/damp; curious; rough; dynamic; very playful; protective of his toys with other dogs Size: 25.30 kg Shiatsu 06.25: work on his emotions and their management; abdominal and stomach pain + inflammation in the hindquarters Health: need to have dry kibble Gadtro-intestinal Hello friends 😄 My name is Koppa and I am a very nice dog who arrived at the shelter after being found alone in an apartment after the expulsion of the person who was supposed to take care of me... I was then sad and helpless, but when I arrived at the shelter I quickly showed my kind boy personality close to humans ❤️ Gentle and affectionate, I probably would not like to live alone because it reminds me too much of my past distress and this trauma is still fresh in my mind. Curious, I am also a dynamic dog, sometimes clumsy in my crazy movements, a basic education has already been done and I would like to continue learning to calm my silly side. At the shelter I do not tolerate the cold and dampness in my sad and gloomy cage, I need warmth and human love to rekindle the flame of my happiness. So if your beautiful family is captivated by my lovely face and extreme kindness, come and meet me soon and finally experience the long-awaited hope of never being abandoned again. Koppa is hesitating between training and treats Breed history: 55 to 62 cm tall for 25 to 36 kg; lifespan 10 to 12 years; calm; intelligent; kind; communicative; agile; trusting; gentle; three colors yellow, chocolate, black; from Newfoundland.

About Koppa

What life with Koppa looks like

Koppa is a medium-sized adult labrador retriever dog waiting at SPA de l in France.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Koppa, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Koppa?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SPA de l handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Koppa on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Koppa if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SPA de l will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Koppa already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Koppa isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SPA de l early rather than rehoming privately; they know Koppa and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
